CONTEXT: HUMAN RIGHTS FILMS IN THE CONTEXT OF SOCIAL INVISIBILITY.

CINE LUSO is a creative and philosophical encounter aimed at tackling contemporary issues. With more than 100 films screened during the first four years, the project is now in its fifth edition for which it aspires to convey the realities specific to the cultures of various Portuguese-speaking countries (countries with Portuguese as an official language), by using audiovisual language as an analysis tool. More than an event, the project is presented as a search for dialogue and the construction of content in a collaborative way.

Topic Overview:
The concept of social invisibility has been applied to socially invisible beings, either through indifference or prejudice. This fact leads us to understand that such a phenomenon only affects those who are at the margins of society.

The intention of this fifth issue is to question society's responsibility for the reaffirmation of stereotypes and the urgent need for awareness about the models adopted as acceptable standards or even the conscious denial of otherness - The relationship between the situation of non-recognition and subjective and identity processes, which will bring us to the understanding of aesthetic, cultural, social and economic prejudices.

In the case of social invisibility, there is a vicious cycle: the impossibility of being looked at makes it difficult to create answers that allow some kind of productive inclusion.

As in the other editions, experts will be invited to debate the films presented in the context of the sub-themes.

1. WOMEN'S VISIBILITY, A PROCESS OF SELF-CONSTRUCTION?
Invisibility is a result of patriarchy in the face of the structuring of male power through the appropriation or usurpation of female power. A permanent struggle for historical reparation.

Focus: femininity/feminism/historical invisibility of women's place

2. AND WHEN INVISIBILITY CONVERGES?
An intersectional view: Social invisibility and human fragility exposed in various forms of oppression.

Focus: The interaction between two or more forms of subordination - of gender, race, class, and sexuality, among others.

3. IS SEEING THE SAME AS PERCEIVING?
The excluded is the one who is not seen, who is not recognized, and who does not belong. Precariousness is linked to insecurity, instability, and exposure to borderline situations that result from the naturalization of indigence by society.

4. LACK OF ACCESSIBILITY - A FORM OF DISCRIMINATION?
People with disabilities, ignored in ordinary daily life, go from social exclusion to marginalization.

5. INVISIBLE SOCIAL, VISIBLE FUNCTION?
The invisible worker who lives the exclusion consented by those who depend on it and need it. The process of instrumentalization of the subject towards dehumanization.

Focus: Informal workers

6. PREJUDICE OR MORAL BLINDNESS?
The bodies rejected by indifference favor the ostracism, the depreciation, and the social death of the identity groups in the logic of the prejudices

7. INVISIBILIZED PEOPLES, THREATENED CITIZENSHIP?
Ignored or unrecognized traditional peoples and communities who resist in precariousness and in the denial of their rights

FILMES SOBRE DIREITOS HUMANOS NO CONTEXTO DA INVISIBILIDADE SOCIAL.

O CINE LUSO é um encontro criativo e filosófico que visa abordar as questões contemporâneas. Com mais de 120 filmes projectados nos primeiros quatro anos, o projecto encontra-se na quinta edição para a qual pretende transmitir as realidades próprias das culturas dos vários países de língua portuguesa (países de língua oficial portuguesa), por utilizando a linguagem audiovisual como ferramenta de análise.

Visão geral do tema:
O conceito de invisibilidade social tem sido aplicado a seres socialmente invisíveis, seja através da indiferença ou do preconceito. Este facto leva-nos a compreender que tal fenómeno apenas afecta aqueles que se encontram à margem da sociedade.

A intenção desta quinta questão é questionar a responsabilidade da sociedade pela reafirmação de estereótipos e a necessidade urgente de consciência sobre os modelos adoptados como padrões aceitáveis ou mesmo a negação consciente da alteridade - A relação entre a situação de não reconhecimento e os processos subjectivos e identitários, o que nos levará à compreensão dos preconceitos estéticos, culturais, sociais e económicos.

No caso da invisibilidade social, existe um ciclo vicioso: a impossibilidade de ser olhado torna difícil criar respostas que permitam algum tipo de inclusão produtiva.

Tal como nas outras edições, os peritos serão convidados a debater os filmes apresentados no contexto dos subtemas.

1. VISIBILIDADE DA MULHER, UM PROCESSO DE AUTO-CONSTRUÇÃO?
Invisibilidade como resultado do patriarcado face à estruturação do poder masculino através da apropriação ou usurpação do poder feminino. Uma luta permanente por uma reparação histórica.

Foco: feminilidade/feminismo/ invisibilidade histórica do lugar da mulher

2. E QUANDO A INVISIBILIDADE CONVERGE?
Uma visão interseccional: invisibilidade social e fragilidade humana exposta em várias formas de opressão.

Foco: A interacção entre duas ou mais formas de subordinação - de género, raça, classe, sexualidade, entre outras.

3. 3. É VER, PERCEBER?
O excluído é aquele que não é visto, que não é reconhecido, que não pertence. Precariedade ligada à insegurança, instabilidade e exposição a situações de fronteira que resultam da naturalização da indigência pela sociedade.

As pessoas com deficiência, ignoradas na vida quotidiana comum, passam da exclusão social para a marginalização.

Foco: Pessoas com deficiência

5. INVISÍVEL SOCIAL, FUNÇÃO VISÍVEL?
O trabalhador invisível que vive a exclusão consentida por aqueles que dependem dela e dela necessitam. O processo de instrumentalização do sujeito para a desumanização.

Âmbito: Trabalhadores informais

6. PRECONCEITO OU CEGUEIRA MORAL?
Os corpos rejeitados pela indiferença promovem o ostracismo, a depreciação e a morte social dos grupos de identidade na lógica do preconceito

Foco: Idosos, obesos, outros

7. POVOS INVISIBILIZADOS, CIDADANIA AMEAÇADA?
Ignorados ou não reconhecidos os povos e comunidades tradicionais que resistem na precariedade e na negação dos seus direitos

OFF LUSO - Espirito Mundo - Films from all countries

Requirements:
In the case of registration for films Off Luso:

1) Produced after January 1, 2019
2) Maximum duration: 90 minutes
3) Films: All countries and territories.
4) Projection films format: File - .mov or .mp4
5) Accepted genres: All
6) Languages: All dialogue films must be in Portuguese, English or French subtitled.
7) Forms of transmission: Transfer or sharing of digital files with completion of the data sheet for the https://filmfreeway.com/festivals.

For other formats, sending a summary is mandatory with the maximum information about the concept and necessary implementation structures.

Deadlines:
1) Inscriptions until: 11/10-2020
2) Results: 09/10 - 2021

Registration fee for administrative management: FREE

The festival program will be selected by a committee to be determined by the festival, which reserves the right to make changes to the selection committee at any time without notice. Participation in the selection committee will not be communicated and the appeal will not be open.

Participants whose films are selected will be contacted by email and will be able to see the selected status of their films on ESPIRITO MUNDO - www.espiritomundo.com/cineluso.

Selected movie participants will be asked to provide a high-quality movie copy of their movie to the requested specifications.

Analog formats, DVDs and cassettes will not be accepted.

If high quality file copy is not provided within four weeks and does not meet technical specifications, the organizers reserve the right to design the copy of the film already provided for selection or remove the film from the festival program.

Organizers will not provide feedback on submitted films.

The event does not pay submission fees for submitted films.

All participants give the event the perpetual right to use portions of all selected films in advertising, promotion and festival projections on international television, radio, web and in theaters. No film will be used for commercial purposes, but strictly for the purpose of promoting the event and its programs in any medium of communication.

These materials include:
3 still images (1 vertical),
poster (.jpg, 300 dpi),
trailer, teaser or an excerpt of no more than 3 minutes from the selected films.

All participants assume for the organizers all responsibility against claims of third parties on the originality of the works presented. The organizers and partners of Cine Luso are not responsible for copyright infringement associated with works submitted to the event. In addition, Cine Luso reserves the right to claim compensation for participants presenting works for which they do not have rights of exhibition.

The presence of participants during the event and in particular during the film debates, is much desired. To this end, it is incumbent upon them to bear the expenses of the respective displacements

6) Idiomas: Todos os filmes em diálogo devem estar em legendados em inglês ou francês (preferencialmente).

TRANSVERSAIS - Filmes experimentais, projectos fotográficos, instalações:

Projeção de filmes experimentais e atividades multidisciplinares com filmes, fotografias ou instalações multimídia que abordam as diversas perspectivas. Projetos que envolvam denúncias ou práticas positivas de reflexão sobre a questão dos direitos humanos no mundo.

Taxa de inscrição destinada a gestão administrativa: FREE

O programa do festival será selecionado por um comitê a ser determinado pelo festival, que se reserva o direito de fazer alterações no comitê de seleção a qualquer momento, sem aviso prévio. A participação no comitê de seleção não será comunicada e não estará aberta a apelação.

Os participantes cujos filmes forem selecionados serão contatados por e-mail e poderão ver o status selecionado de seus filmes no site ESPIRITO MUNDO – www.espiritomundo.com/cineluso e pelas redes sociais.

Os participantes de filmes selecionados serão solicitados a fornecer uma cópia de arquivo de alta qualidade de seu filme às especificações solicitadas.

Formatos analógicos, DVDs e cassetes não serão aceitos.

Se a cópia de arquivo de alta qualidade não for fornecida dentro de quatro semanas e não atender às especificações técnicas, os organizadores reservam-se o direito de projetar a cópia do filme já fornecida para seleção ou remover o filme do programa do festival.

Os organizadores não fornecerão feedback sobre os filmes submetidos.

O evento não paga taxas de apresentação de filmes submetidos.

Todos os participantes dão ao evento o direito, em perpetuidade, de usar trechos de todos os filmes selecionados, em publicidade, promoção e projeções para o festival na televisão internacional, rádio, web e nos cinemas. Nenhum filme será usado para fins comerciais, mas estritamente com o objetivo de promover o evento e seus programas em qualquer meio de comunicação.

Estes materiais incluem: 3 imagens fixas (1 vertical), poster (.jpg, 300 dpi), trailer, teaser ou um excerto de não mais do que 3 minutos dos filmes selecionados.

Todos os participantes assumem para os organizadores toda a responsabilidade contra reclamações de terceiros sobre a originalidade das obras apresentadas. A presença de participantes durante o evento e em particular durante os cine debates, é muito desejada. Para tal, cabe aos mesmos arcar com as despesas dos respectivos deslocamentos
