About

The 2nd edition of the Peru International Film Festival will be held from January 15th to 20th 2023 in Lima, Peru. The festival was created to develop an interactive environment between peruvian and international films as well as aiming to discover new filmmaking forms, disseminate and promote local and world cinema, contributing to the development of Industry and Audiovisual Arts, hosting the meeting in their various trades and enhancing its development through a market useful for industry in Peru and abroad.

It is a meeting point for filmmakers, a source for inspiration and new knowledge for experts, students and cinema lovers. PIFF is a hotbed for talent development and promotion of cinema as an attractive leisure for all target groups possible.

Best Fiction Short Film - €3000 + Golden Statuette

Best Experimental Short Film - €3000 + Golden Statuette
Special Jury Award - €2000 + Certificate

Runner ups in all categories will be awarded with cash prices and Silver and Bronze Statuette.

Rules & Terms

The films selected by the special selection committee of the festival will be invited to take part in the program. In case the film is selected, the submitter will be asked to send the screening agreement, stills, subtitles (dialogue lists with time-codes), projection copy (without burnt in subtitles) via the Internet or to the physical address of the Festival.

The selected films will be screened in Lima, Peru during the festival up to two times. The best works will be included in the program of PIFF on tour. The winners of the Festival will be automatically included in the program.

The directors of all films which has been selected for the official program of the Festival (either competitive or not) will be invited to Lima, Peru, covering the accommodation and transfer from/to an airport. Festival will be discussing the possibilities of covering the travel costs with every guest individually.

Films in Peruvian or in languages other than English will only be accepted with English subtitles.

Film must not be widely commercially available on video/DVD/online/streaming in Italy before the festival dates.

Feature films and feature documentaries must have a minimum run-time of 40 minutes.

All short films must have a run-time under 30 minutes.

Entrants must submit their films through WFCN. All films must be submitted as either an online screener or Vimeo link for consideration. All entrants must be over the age of 18 to submit films.

Students must provide a copy of their college/university identification card to show enrollment.
