Red Soil International Film Festival; as the name denotes reminds us of the rich and cultural heritage of Bankura, a western district of the state of West Bengal. The rural heritage of Bankura lies in its terracotta temples, dhamsa-madal, tribal dance forms like Jhumur, Ranpa, Pata, etc., dokra jewelry, silk, handloom sarees, and many more. Bankura connects us with our root, rural India; in order to celebrate our connection to our root; our soil we have initiated this festival on International grounds that aims at imparting recognition to those films and filmmakers who are not getting the required scope to exhibit their artwork; those who initiate originality in their work and believes in focusing on the roots of social life. We have witnessed promising talents getting lost in the crowd of stardom and over-exposure due to a lack of proper guidance and scope. We decided to serve the purpose so that we don't lose any more talents in the world of cinema.
Our motto is to promote and guide deserving filmmakers in the best possible ways.
We ensure to provide platform and recognition and help showcase the films of emerging indie filmmakers so that they get acquainted with the professionals of the film world and get broader scopes to carry forward their purpose.
