This is the 27th Edition of SUNCINE (Barcelona International Environmental Film Festival)
From 4 th until the 12th of November 2020 will be held in Barcelona. A festival that generates a positive social change using the cinema and all the artistic expressions.

SUNCINE, formerly known by the acronym FICMA, was born in 1993 and is positioned as the oldest Film Festival in the world of its kind.
As of this edition, SUNCINE is extended in geography and on the calendar with the aim of promoting,and disseminating before, during and after the event, the audiovisual in any of its formats, in order to raise awareness about the environment and sustainability.
SUNCINE with the films and the activities it creates provides tools to do it and reaches all kinds of people and all age groups.

Barcelona will present the latest film productions performed worldwide with environmental issues and helps to promote and support this kind of cinema, filmmakers and artists creating a meeting point for all these professionals and the interaction with the audience.

This year a part of SUNCINE (The Official Section) will happen in different cities of Spain.

REGULATIONS

0 | INTRODUCTION

The non-profit cultural Association ACCIONS 3E convenes and organizes the 27th SUNCINE International Environmental Film Festival, which will be held from 4 to 12 November 2020 and from January to June 2021 in Barcelona (Catalonia).
SUNCINE, previously known by the acronym FICMA, was created in 1993 and is the world’s oldest film festival in its genre.
Starting from this edition, SUNCINE extends its reach and its agenda in order to promote, distribute and spread ―before, during and after the event― all audiovisual formats, with the aim of raising awareness and sensitivity on the state of the environment and sustainability.

1 | PARTICIPATION

Any legal entity and/or individual over 18 years old may participate, with productions and/or co-productions produced starting from 1 January 2019 which deal with different social and environmental situations and circumstances anywhere on the planet.

2 | FESTIVAL SECTIONS

a) PREMIERE SECTION

Feature-length documentaries produced starting from 1 January 2019 and which are premiered in Spain are convened for this section. The selection will give priority to those productions which are also European premieres. Each production selected will receive the quantity of five hundred dollars (US$500) for the screening.

b) OFFICIAL SECTION

Medium-sized documentaries and feature films over 30 minutes long and premieres in Spain. are convened to compete in this section. They aspire to win the Festival’s highest award: the Golden Sun.
This section will be screened in Barcelona and in the cities which are sub-venues of the Festival in Spain.
Each production selected will receive the quantity of five hundred dollars (US$300)

c) VIEWS SECTION:

Short films (documentary, fiction and animation) are convened for this section, with a maximum length of 30 minutes, suitable for children, families and schools, with the aim of contributing to education and environmental awareness.

3 | SUSTAINABLE CINEMA PRIZE

The Festival wants to reward and to promote the Sustainable Film Production, from this edition, we are going to give the SUSTAINABLE FILM AWARD.
On the official website of the Festival, www.suncinefest.com, an online form is available for all those participants registered in the Official Section and Views Section, which must be completed and included with the registration form, in order to participate in this Prize.
A Jury leaded with an expert in sustainable film production, will evaluate the parameters of sustainability and ecological footprint of the film.
It is not compulsory to fill in this form in order to participate, but it may affect the appraisal of the jury, which will present a most sustainable production award. (See section 5 of this Regulation)

4 | REGISTRATION AND FEES

Deadline for registration: 15 September 2020 at midnight It must be carried out on the following platforms:

and the registration form (available on the website www.suncinefest.com) must be filled in and sent to the e-mail address [email protected]
UNSIGNED registration forms shall not be considered as valid.

The Festival will announce the results of the selection on the Festival’s official website (www.suncinefest.com) and directly by e-mail to those selected.

The cost of the registration is:
Premiere section and Official section: US$20
(registration for the Premiere section allows you to register for the Official section)
Views section: US$10

5 | JURY

The Festival’s jury will be made up of film and environment professionals for each of the sections competing in the Festival.
The jury’s decision will be final.

6 | AWARDS

The Golden Sun has been SUNCINE’s highest award since it began in 1993, being the world’s oldest environmental cinematography prize.
THE BEST DOCUMENTARY OF SUNCINE will be awarded the Golden Sun and a prize of US$4000

7 | HOSPITALITY

The organization will invite, with travel and accommodation, the directors of the films from the PREMIERE SECTION in November 2020 and the winners of the OFFICIAL SECTION, WWF VIEWS and HUMAN ECOLOGY in June 2021 in order to receive the Golden Sun and the special awards.

8 | SUNCINE SCREENINGS (SUNCINE TOUR) – from January to November 2021

The productions registered with the 27th SUNCINE International Environmental Film Festival may form part of the Screenings (SUNCINE TOUR) that it holds, the aim of which is to disseminate and promote environmental education through audiovisual. These are always non-profit screenings with free and open admission.
I you should not wish to participate in this programme, they must indicate this expressly in the corresponding box of the registration form

9 | CADA AULA UN CINE (ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION PROGRAMME)

The main aim of the online environmental education programme “CADA AULA UN CINE” is to be the biggest free, open-access environmental education portal for primary, secondary and tertiary education, without any possibility to download the film, to take audiovisual and the environment to education centres for the purpose of introducing the new technologies and promoting environmental education in primary and secondary schools, with the motto: “Educate with entertainment and raise awareness with sensitivity”
The films selected in the Views section will form part of this programme.
If you should not wish to participate in this programme, they must indicate this expressly in the corresponding box of the registration form.

10 | PROMOTION AND COMMUNICATION

The Festival organizers may use the photos, trailers or fragments of the films (no longer than 3’) to publicize the event on promotional TV programmes and other media.
The Festival will provide the images of the winners of the Official and Premiere sections and of the awards presented to all the works which form part of the 27th SUNCINE, so that the participants can include them on their posters and promotional trailers in order to mention and publicize their selection and/or award.

11 | ACCEPTANCE OF THE REGULATIONS

The signature of the author and/or producer of the work on the registration form for the 27th SUNCINE International Environmental Film Festival represents unconditional acceptance of all of the regulations, filed before a notary, before any authority.
The Festival reserves the right to make modifications or to make decisions or consider issues not specified in these regulations. These will be notified in advance to the participants registered for this edition.

0 | INTRODUCCIÓN

La Asociación cultural sin ánimos de lucro ACCIONS 3E convoca y organiza el 27º SUNCINE Festival Internacional de Cine del Medio Ambiente, que se celebrará del 4 al 12 de noviembre de 2020 y de enero a junio del 2021 en Barcelona (Catalunya).
SUNCINE, antes conocido por las siglas FICMA, nació en 1993 y se posiciona como el festival de cine más antiguo del mundo en su género.
A partir de esta edición, SUNCINE se extiende en la geografía y en el calendario con el objetivo de promover, difundir y divulgar antes, durante y después de la celebración del evento, el audiovisual en cualquiera de sus formatos, con el fin de concienciar y sensibilizar sobre el estado del medio ambiente y la sostenibilidad.

1 | PARTICIPACIÓN

Podrán participar todas las personas físicas y/o jurídicas, a partir de los 18 años, con producciones y/o coproducciones realizadas a partir del 1 de enero de 2019 que traten sobre diferentes situaciones y circunstancias sociales y ambientales en cualquier lugar del planeta.

2 | SECCIONES DEL FESTIVAL

a) SECCIÓN ESTRENOS

Se convocan en esta sección los documentales largometrajes realizados a partir del 1º de enero del 2019 y que sean estrenos en España, y en la selección se dará prioridad a aquellas producciones que también sean estrenos europeos. Cada producción seleccionada recibirá la cantidad de quinientos dólares (500U$S) por dos pases.

b) SECCIÓN OFICIAL

Se convocan a certamen a esta sección, los documentales medios y largometrajes superiores a 30 minutos de duración y estrenos en España que aspiran al máximo galardón del Festival, el Sol de Oro.
Esta Sección se proyectará en Barcelona y en las ciudades subsedes del Festival.
Cada producción seleccionada recibirá la cantidad de quinientos dólares (300 U$S) en concepto de proyecciones Barcelona y ciudades subsedes

c) SECCIÓN MIRADAS

Se convocan a esta sección cortometrajes (documental, ficción y animación) con un máximo de 30 minutos de duración, dirigidos al público infantil, familiar y escuelas, con el fin de contribuir a la educación y sensibilización ambiental.

3 | PREMIO A LA PRODUCCIÓN SOSTENIBLE

El Festival quiere premiar y promover, la Producción de Cine Sostenible, por eso, a partir de ésta edición, nace: PREMIO CINE SOSTENIBLE. En la web oficial del Festival, se pondrá a disposición de los inscritos a la Sección Oficial y Sección Miradas, un formulario online disponible en www.suncinefest.com que se deberá rellenar e incluir junto a la ficha de inscripción, para poder participar del Premio a la Producción Sostenible .
El Jurado junto a un experto en producción cinematográfica sostenible, valorarán los parámetros de sostenibilidad y huella ecológica con los que se ha realizado la película. Se pondrá a también a disposición en la web del Festival: http://www.suncinefest.com, una calculadora de huella de carbono que podrá ser utilizada como referencia.
Este formulario no es de obligatorio cumplimiento para participar en el Festival, pero sí para participar del Premio a la Producción Sostenible. (Ver apartado 5 de este reglamento)

4 | INSCRIPCIÓN Y CUOTAS

La fecha límite de inscripción: 15 de septiembre de 2020 a las 24h y se realizará mediante las siguientes plataformas:

Las fichas de inscripción NO FIRMADAS no serán consideradas válidas.

El Festival comunicará los resultados de la selección a las distintas secciones a través de la página web oficial del Festival (www.suncinefest.com) y directamente por mail a los seleccionados.

Sección Estrenos y Sección Oficial: 20U$S

5 | JURADO

El jurado del Festival estará formado por profesionales del cine y del medio ambiente para cada una de las secciones a certamen del Festival.
El veredicto del jurado será inapelable.

6 | PREMIOS

El Sol de Oro es el máximo galardón del SUNCINE desde sus inicios en 1993, siendo la más antigua condecoración de la cinematografía ambiental del mundo.
El MEJOR DOCUMENTAL del SUNCINE: será premiado con el Sol de Oro y un premio de 4000U$S
El PREMIO MIRADAS WWF: recibirá un Premio de 1000U$S
El PREMIO HUMAN ECOLOGY: con la colaboración de la distribuidora internacional Green Film Planet,: recibirá un premio de 500U$S
PREMIO PRODUCCIÓN SOSTENIBLE: Se premiará a la propuesta más sostenible en una producción en las diferentes secciones.
En el caso de otros premios y menciones, serán anunciados en el Festival.

7 | HOSPITALIDAD

La organización, con el fin de disminuir las emisiones de CO2 y reducir la huella ecológica de los realizadores y del Festival sólo invitará con el viaje y alojamiento, a los realizadores de las películas de la SECCIÓN ESTRENOS en noviembre del 2020 y a los ganadores de la SECCIÓN OFICIAL, MIRADAS WWF y HUMAN ECOLOGY en junio del 2021 para recibir el Sol de Oro y los premios especiales.

8 | MUESTRAS SUNCINE – de enero a noviembre de 2021

Las producciones inscritas al 27 SUNCINE, Festival internacional de Cine del Medio Ambiente, podrán formar parte de las Muestra que éste realiza y que tienen como fin divulgar y promover la educación ambiental mediante el audiovisual. Las proyecciones de la Muestra se realizan siempre sin fines de lucro y con entrada libre y gratuita.
Si no se desea participar de este programa, deberá indicarlo de forma expresa en la casilla correspondiente en la ficha de inscripción.

9 | CADA AULA UN CINE (PROGRAMA DE EDUCACIÓN AMBIENTAL)

El programa de educación ambiental en línea “CADA AULA UN CINE” tiene como principal objetivo, ser el mayor portal de educación ambiental libre y gratuito para la enseñanza primaria, secundaria y terciaria, llevando el audiovisual y el medio ambiente a los centros educativos, sin ninguna posibilidad de descarga, con el fin de introducir la educación ambiental bajo el lema: “Educar entreteniendo y concienciar sensibilizando”
Las películas inscritas en la Sección Miradas podrán formar parte de este programa.
Si no se desea participar de este programa, deberá indicarlo de forma expresa en la casilla correspondiente en la ficha de inscripción.

10 | PROMOCIÓN Y COMUNICACIÓN

Los organizadores del Festival podrán utilizar las fotos, tráileres o fragmentos de los filmes (no superiores a 3’) para la difusión del evento en programas de TV promocionales y otros medios.
El Festival facilitará las imágenes del palmarés de la Selección y de la premiación a todas las obras que formen parte del 27º SUNCINE, para que los participantes puedan incluirlas en sus carteles y tráileres promocionales,.

11 | ACEPTACIÓN DEL REGLAMENTO

La firma de la ficha de inscripción del 27º SUNCINE Festival Internacional de Cine del Medio Ambiente, significa la aceptación incondicional de la totalidad de este reglamento, depositado ante notario, ante cualquier instancia firmado ante notario.
El Festival se reserva el derecho de realizar modificaciones, o tomar decisiones, o contemplar temas no especificados en este reglamento, las que serán comunicadas con antelación a los participantes inscritos en esta edición.
