Since 2020, I have been creating music I can truly call my own - dramatic, honest, and deeply personal. The EP that thus started coming into being was named 'Something To Hold On To'. But I didn’t want to just release songs, I wanted stories. Stories that would unfold visually through the emotions of each composition.
Taking various things into consideration, animation seemed the perfect medium. Through my sound engineer Tapasi Bhattacharya, I met animation filmmaker Deepayan Purkait, who saw in the music a larger universe. What began as standalone videos evolved into a vision: an animated musical series — each chapter a self-contained story, yet part of a bigger tale of two lovers, Maya and Arya.
The first chapter, Moonflower, became our pilot and to our joy, it travelled across festivals and touched hearts. For that, we are deeply grateful.
The youtube link to Moonflower can be accessed via the Youtube button on my profile.
The second chapter of Something To Hold On To, titled 'In Her Time' will soon begin its journey into the world.
My heartfelts thanks to my project's filmmaker Deepayan Purkait for adapting my music into such beautiful animated shortfilms and to the entire team involved in filmmaking, music and audio production for their invaluable contributions.
